@DWP63, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're seeing blinking lights on the color ink indicator even after replacing the cartridge. Let's walk through some steps to resolve this issue.

Check Cartridge Compatibility

Make sure the cartridge you installed is compatible with your HP printer model. Using non-genuine or incorrect cartridges can cause blinking lights.

Reseat the Cartridge

Sometimes the cartridge may not be seated properly.

  1. Turn on the printer.
  2. Open the ink cartridge access door.
  3. Remove the color cartridge.
  4. Gently wipe the copper contacts with a lint-free cloth.
  5. Reinsert the cartridge firmly until it clicks into place.
  6. Close the access door and check if the light stops blinking.

Clean the Cartridge Contacts

If the issue persists, clean the electrical contacts.

Reset the Printer

A simple reset can sometimes clear the error:

  1. With the printer on, unplug the power cord from the back.
  2. Wait 60 seconds.
  3. Plug it back in and turn the printer on.

Update Firmware (Optional but Recommended)

Outdated firmware can cause cartridge recognition issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
