Never mind...

I have the same printer and just updated to a new Mac mini M4 running Sequoia 15.2. I keep getting the Certificate has expired error. No idea what to do. EXTREMELY frustrating.

Hi Rachel,

I have an HP smart tank plus 571.

For some reason today after I installed another printer this printer is saying 'expired certificate - check the printer for errors'.

I have followed all of your steps, multiple times,  and it is still not working from any of our Macs 15.1.1 but I could print from my iPhone via the Hp smart extension.

I even tried adding the printer by its IP address. I got excited when it started to print but it just kept spewing out empty pages and then got a warning saying there was no ink. I went into the printer page and it showed up all the ink levels.

I am at a loss and would love a solution!

One of the tell tale signs is the age of the printer !
It seems all certificates start on Jan 1 and last for a maximum of 10 years (Why ? I don't know :=( ...)
It may not be 3650 days as mine was bought July 2015 and magically expired without warning on 1 Jan 2025.

Oh such a waste of time trying to fix it - if only there was a warning ! 😤
Thank you Rachel 571 👏
