HP LaserJet MFP M234dwe Printer

I am being told this is a hardware issue.  Cannot fix.  I have had the printer for just over 2 years, and it’s not heavily used.  I loved it, until today

Hi @Labs6 ,

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're experiencing with your printer. Paper jams can sometimes be misleadingly indicated, even when there is no visible jam. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

  1. Printer Reset: Unplug the printer from the power source and wait for about a minute. Plug it back in and turn it on to see if this clears the error message.

  2. Paper Path Inspection: Although you don't see a jam, make sure to inspect the entire paper path for small pieces of paper or any debris that might trigger a jam sensor. Remove the paper tray, check inside the printer, and behind any accessible covers.

  3. Check the Rollers:

    • Open any access panels and look at the rollers to see if any of them are stuck or misaligned.
    • Sometimes, cleaning the rollers with a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water can solve paper feed problems.
  4. Open the Main Door and Cover: Ensure that all access doors and covers are closed securely. A slightly open door might cause a sensor to indicate a jam.

  5. Firmware Update: Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date, as updates can resolve specific hardware errors.

Hope this helps solve your issue
