I keep getting message "Printer  Busy" or printer offline when trying t print when neither is true

@colinF2, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

I understand you are not able to print from your MAC, let us try these steps:

 

Try making a standalone copy and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

 

How is the printer connected to the MAC? Check the connectivity. 

Do you have any anti-virus programs installed on the MAC?

If yes, disable the same and try printing.

You may check this in System Information > Applications.

 

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your MAC.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

 

Also, check for any software updates on MAC

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.

For Printer users, the most common issue is how to get free any Printer Driver. You can search for the appropriate driver type on the Internet. But the way is time-consuming. Why not try third party software? With Driver Update, you can easily find the right type of free Printer Driver downloads.
