Have error message " There is a problem with the printer or ink system, turn printer on / off. If problem persist contact HP "
I have turned on / off + unplugged and same error message. Machine is 8 years old, was thinking print head but not sure it is worth it to fix.

Hi @GW82120,
I'd like to help!
Try the below suggestions:-
Reset the product
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
Remove and reinsert the ink cartridges
Remove and reinsert each ink cartridge.
Open the door to access to the ink cartridges.
Wait until the carriage stops moving before you continue.
Push the ink cartridge to remove it, and then push it into its slot until it snaps into place.

Repeat these steps for the other three ink cartridges.
Close the ink cartridge access door

I had already tried this but did not correct. I did take out the print head and cleaned it. Error message has gone away. Re aligned print head and did a test print, looks like cleaning worked but thank you for info.
