Hi @Mmarie74,

Thank you for your reply

I understand you are getting the error you're seeing with your HP DeskJet 3752 All-in-One Printer (the flashing "E" and a 3) is typically related to a general hardware error or a paper jam issue. Even if there are no visible blockages, the printer might still be detecting a problem internally.

Let's try a few troubleshooting steps to resolve this:

1. Power Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait for 60 seconds to fully reset the internal hardware.
  • Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

2. Check for Paper or Obstructions

  • Open the printer and check the paper input tray, output tray, and the area around the ink cartridges for any small bits of paper or foreign objects that could be triggering the sensors.
  • Also, check the rear access door (if your printer has one) for any jammed paper.

3. Reset the Ink Cartridges

  • Open the ink cartridge access door and remove the cartridges.
  • While the printer is on, wait for the carriage to stop moving before inserting the cartridges back in.
  • Ensure the cartridges are firmly seated in their slots.

4. Check the Printer Error on HP Smart App

  • If your printer is connected via USB or Wi-Fi, try using the HP Smart app or the HP Print and Scan Doctor (for Windows) to diagnose the issue.
  • Sometimes, these tools can provide more detailed information about the specific error.

5. Hard Reset

  • If none of the above steps work, try performing a hard reset:
    • While the printer is on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
    • Wait for 30-60 seconds.
    • Reconnect the power cord, but do not turn on the printer right away.
    • Hold the Power button for 10-15 seconds to force a reset.

6. Update Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • If the printer is able to connect to your network, check if there is a firmware update available. Sometimes, firmware issues can cause hardware malfunctions. You can update it through the HP Smart app or from the HP Support website.

7. Perform a Factory Reset (Last Resort)

  • As a final step, you can try a factory reset, which will clear all settings:
    • Press and hold the Wi-Fi and Cancel buttons on the printer for about 10 seconds until the power light blinks.

Refer to this document: HP DeskJet 3752 All-in-One Printer User manual

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
