Hoping for some good advice here.
I have a new Chromebook. It's an ASUS 523 Model.
I own a Canon printer that prints perfectly every time with my Windows and Mac Pc's but it will have nothing to do with the Chromebook. Trying to get it to communicate with the Chromebook has been a total and absolute failure.
I further understand that Google CloudPrint is being discontinued as of 31/12/2020.
I'm looking for an inkjet printer that will communicate with my Chromebook via my wireless network at home.
I've given up with Canon! They clearly aren't interested in supporting Chromebooks, so I'll spend my money elsewhere.
Can anybody suggest an HP Printer that will connect to my Chromebook, out of the box, without having to spend half a day fiddling with endless settings. so that I can get on with my life. I'm not wanting to connect via Cloudprint. There seems no point now, as it's being discontinued. I just want to print A4 pages.
Really grateful for any suggestion, as I really have had iit with Canon.
Thanks.

Hi,
Apologies for my late reply.
Most if not all current HP printers support the HP Print for Chrome app, so these are not relying on Google Cloud Print.
You may find many printers to support the plugin, such as the following:
HP Deskjet printers and copiers, be aware that these have bottom margins and cannot print borderless (from edge to edge):
https://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/List.aspx?sel=PRN&ctrl=f&fc_sb_deskjet=1
HP Envy printers provide more photo print quality and borderless printing:
https://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/List.aspx?sel=PRN&ctrl=f&fc_sb_envy=1&pmax=65
Finally, you may check HP Officejet printers which also offer fax capabilities, but uses 4 ink cartridges and must have any ink available to allow printing, these may be more economical for frequent printing, but use more ink for maintenance when not being used for longer periods:
https://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/List.aspx?sel=PRN&ctrl=f&fc_sb_officejet=1
Generally, any of the models above are supported by the HP Print for Chrome plugin so these should answer your needs.
Hope that helps,
Shlomi

Hi,
Most if not any current HP wireless printer supports printing from Google Chrome using HP Print for Chrome as described below:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04683559
Scanning can be done using Webscan:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05881028
You may find any supported HP printer marked as HP Print for Chrome in the following support document:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03722645#FAQ_HPPrintforChrome
If you would like any specific model recommendation, please clarify what are you looking for, only a printer, a copier and scanner too, with or without a fax? approximately, how many pages do you usually print in a month?

Hi SchlomiL
Thanks for your helpful advice here, and I would like some advice please on the most suitable printer for standard printing onto A4 paper, Copying and Scanning. I have no requirement for FAX.
The new printer will probably print no more than 50/75 pages a month, and is for home use only.
We have an up to date BT Halo 2 router with WPS pairing built in.
We do NOT want to use Google CloudPrint, because it is being discontinued from 1/1/2021 so we want a printer that is going to still work following that date.
Any advice is helpful, and Thank you.
Keith
