HP ENVY Photo 7858 All-in-One Printer

My Hp ENVY Photo 7858 is frozen on startup.  It is stuck after loading one dot on the startup screen and will not proceed to load any further.   I have performed a hard reset (unplugged for 10-15 minutes and removed the ink cartridges) but the same thing happens still when plugged back in.  It’s plugged directly into a known good wall outlet as well. It seems like many consumers are having this same issue. I’ve had this device only a couple years and maybe used it a handful of times

Hi @Jguz1988 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It's unfortunate to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP ENVY Photo 7858 printer. If a hard reset didn't resolve the problem, here are some additional steps you can try:

Check for Paper Jams: Ensure that there are no paper jams in the printer. Even a small piece of paper stuck in the printer can cause it to freeze during startup.

Update Firmware: Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer. Manufacturers often release firmware updates to address bugs and improve device performance. You can usually find firmware updates on the HP support website.

Disconnect from Power: Completely disconnect the printer from power for an extended period (e.g., 30 minutes or more). This can sometimes help in clearing any residual power and may resolve certain issues.

Check for Physical Damage: Inspect the printer for any physical damage, loose parts, or broken components. If you find anything unusual, it may be best to contact HP support for further assistance.

Reset to Factory Defaults: Some printers have an option to reset to factory defaults. Check your printer's user manual or online documentation for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
