HP ENVY 6052e All-in-One Printer

Hello everyone. For as long as I have had this printer, every 5-6 print jobs ends up getting stuck (for lack of a better word). The printer just stops printing right after it starts and does this loading noise where it sounds like it is printing in the same spot over and over until you cancel the print job.
I have restarted it. Reconnected it to the wifi. Unplugged it for a certain amount of time…. It seems like I’ve tried everything. But nothing works.

what can I do to keep this from happening anymore? It is going to start adding up with all of the wasted half printed pages….

Hi @Frankly-E ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're experiencing a recurring issue with your HP ENVY 6052e All-In-One Printer getting stuck during print jobs.

Here are several steps you can take to try to resolve this issue:

1. Check for Firmware Updates Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Outdated firmware can cause various issues, including print job errors.
  • You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or the HP website.

2. Clear Print Queue

  • Sometimes, a stuck print job can cause subsequent jobs to hang.
  • Clear the print queue on your computer:
    • Windows: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > right-click your printer > See what's printing > Cancel All Documents.
    • Mac: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > select your printer > Open Print Queue > Cancel All Documents.

3. Reset the Printing System

  • Windows: Remove and re-add the printer.
    • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > right-click your printer > Remove device. Then, add it back again.
  • Mac: Reset the printing system.
    • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > right-click (or Control-click) in the list of devices > Reset printing system. Then, add your printer again.

4. Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions

  • Ensure there are no paper jams or foreign objects inside the printer. Even small bits of paper can cause issues.

5. Use Genuine HP Ink Cartridges

  • Non-HP or refilled ink cartridges can sometimes cause printing issues. Make sure you are using genuine HP ink cartridges.

6. Check for Driver Updates

  • Make sure your printer driver is up to date. You can download the latest driver from the HP website.

7. Check Printer Settings

  • Ensure the print settings are correct for the type of job you are printing. Sometimes, incorrect settings can cause the printer to get stuck.

8. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

9. Reinstall the HP Smart App

  • If you are using the HP Smart app to print, uninstall and reinstall the app.

10. Print a Diagnostic Report

  • Print a diagnostic report to check for any issues that might not be immediately visible. This can usually be done through the printer's control panel or the HP Smart app.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
