Hi @CalusaTom,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your printer has no power and the power light is off despite trying all suggested remedies and verifying that the power source is OK, there might be a more serious issue with the printer itself. Here’s a detailed guide to further troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:
1. Verify Power Source and Connections
- Ensure that the power outlet you are using is working. You can test this by plugging in another device or using a different outlet.
- Examine the power cord for any visible damage or fraying. If the cord appears damaged, replacing it might resolve the issue.
- Confirm that the power cord is securely connected to both the printer and the power outlet.
2. Perform a Power Reset
Power Cycle the Printer:
- Unplug the printer from the power source.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
- If your printer has a physical power button, press and hold it for 10-15 seconds before releasing it. This can sometimes reset internal components.
3. Check for Physical Issues
Inspect the Printer Internals:
- If you are comfortable with it, check the printer’s internal components for any loose connections or obvious signs of damage. This might include the internal power supply or connectors.
- Ensure there are no foreign objects or debris inside the printer that might be obstructing the power supply.
4. Test with a Different Power Cord:
- If possible, test the printer with a different, compatible power cord to rule out the possibility of a faulty cord.
5. Check for External Power Supply Issues
- Verify External Power Supply (if applicable):
- Some printers use an external power supply or adapter. Ensure that this power supply is working correctly and try using a replacement if you have one available.
6. Look for Printer-Specific Indicators
- If your printer has any indicator lights or displays, check for any signs of life or error codes that might provide more information about the problem.
- Listen carefully for any sounds when the printer is plugged in, such as clicks or hums, which might indicate internal issues.
7. Consult the Printer’s Manual:
- Check the printer’s user manual for any specific troubleshooting steps related to power issues. Sometimes, the manual will have additional guidance for resolving power problems.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
