After generally great operation for a good while, years in fact, this printer has suddenly started trying to print an all-blue background on all sheets. Other lines, graphics, and text print black okay, just lots of solid blue background. I have tried resetting, rebooting both laptop and printer, full un-plug and re-plug. Nothing changes it. Have also removed color cartridge and cleaned it, plus going through the cartridge cleaning routine in the software. I first noticed it while printing from Autocad, then tried a Word document, and then the Test Print from the printer software. All blue.
I'm hoping it's a cartridge issue, but I don't have a spare to try, and I'm reluctant to buy a new one if it is more likely the printer itself. Tight budget. What is most likely? What else can I try? Thanks!

I have an HP Officejet 7310.
It has started printing a blue background on every colour document I print. It is network connected to a Linux Mint 18.3 PC. This seems to have started after a routine update of 'Ghostscript'.
Can any one help?

Same issue on 2 laptops at home, running Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS.
HPlip package is not involved.
Probably an update of GhostScript : you can track this bug on launchpad :
