Print head problems

Hi @Timadaher

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're experiencing an issue with your printer's printhead. Printhead problems are common in inkjet printers and can manifest in a few different ways, such as poor print quality, streaky or faded prints, or errors like "Printhead problem" or "Printhead failure."

Here are the most common causes of printhead problems and steps to resolve them:

1. Run a Printhead Cleaning (Automatic Cleaning)

Many printers offer an automatic cleaning function that can help resolve minor printhead clogs.

How to Run Printhead Cleaning:

  1. From the printer's control panel (if it has a display), go to the Settings or Maintenance menu.
  2. Look for an option like "Clean Printhead" or "Printhead Cleaning". Select it and follow the on-screen instructions.
    • This process typically takes several minutes.
  3. After cleaning, print a test page to check if the issue is resolved.

Important Notes:

  • If the issue is severe, you may need to run the cleaning process multiple times.
  • Be aware that this can use up ink, so avoid excessive cleaning if it's not necessary.

2. Perform a Printhead Alignment

Misalignment of the printhead can also cause printing issues like skewed prints, color mismatches, or blurry text. Most printers allow you to run an automatic alignment process.

How to Align the Printhead:

  1. Go to the Settings or Maintenance section of your printer’s control panel.
  2. Look for the option to align the printhead. This option is often listed under Print Quality or Tools.
  3. Follow the instructions to align the printhead.
  4. Once completed, print a test page to check the print quality.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
