HP ENVY 6452e All-in-One Printer

Printer says that its out of paper, I've put paper in it and back out and retried multiple times, turned it off and back on again, unplugged the printer, restarted it, checked the rollers for the paper, I have no idea whats wrong. This printer is barely 3 months old.

Hi @Whitney30

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your printer is showing a yellow light and indicating that it’s out of paper despite having paper loaded, here are some troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue:

Step 1: Check Paper Type and Size

  1. Paper Size: Ensure that the paper size you’re using matches the settings in the printer. For example, if the printer is set to A4, but you’re using letter-size paper, it might cause issues.
  2. Paper Type: Use standard printer paper to rule out compatibility issues with other paper types.

Step 2: Reload Paper Properly

  1. Remove All Paper: Take all the paper out of the tray.
  2. Fan the Paper: Before reloading, fan the stack of paper to prevent it from sticking together.
  3. Reload Correctly: Place the paper back into the tray, ensuring it’s aligned correctly and not exceeding the paper guides.

Step 3: Check for Paper Jams

  1. Inspect for Jams: Even a small piece of torn paper can cause the printer to think there’s a jam. Open all access doors and check for any jammed paper.
  2. Clear Any Debris: Look for any debris in the paper path that might block the sensors.

Step 4: Clean the Paper Rollers

  1. Inspect the Rollers: Check the rollers for any wear or dirt. Clean them with a soft, lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water to improve grip.

Step 5: Check Sensor Functionality

  1. Paper Sensors: The printer may have a malfunctioning paper sensor. If you’re comfortable, check for any dust or obstruction near the paper sensors (usually located near the paper feed area).

Step 6: Update or Reset Printer

  1. Firmware Update: Check for any firmware updates available for your printer on the HP website.
  2. Factory Reset: If all else fails, consider resetting the printer to factory settings. Refer to the manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
