Envy 7640
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have tried several different Microsoft Word documents (template and non-template), and the prints are coming out with the margin settings ignored, and printing starts from the very top of the paper (non-photo), and prints all the way to the edges.

I don't know if I need to reinstall the printer drivers.

I just bought this printer last month, and it was working fine until today (though I haven't printed for a couple of days.)

Hello, @rikki-lyn – Hope you are well 🙂

Welcome back to the HP Forums. I’d like to be of your assistance!

I understand you are facing issues while printing using the Microsoft Word. Is the issue specific to word documents? Try to print few online pages or PDF’s and check if the issue repeats.

Alternatively, try to perform a clean install as suggested below:

  • First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.
  • Go to Control Panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Envy printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control Panel – Devices and Printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to the Run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Now, click http://hp.care/2omOX5O to download and install the software.
  • Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.

Let me know how that goes!

Cheers 🙂
