Hi @TVW2
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
If your HP DeskJet 2852e printer is in an error state and all lights are flashing, there are a few steps you can take to resolve the issue:
Check Connections:
- Ensure the printer is properly connected to the computer via USB or network (if applicable).
- Make sure the power cord is securely plugged into the printer and a reliable power outlet.
Reset Printer:
- Turn off the printer: Press the Power button to turn off the printer.
- Unplug the power cord: Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Wait: Allow the printer to sit idle and unplugged for about 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord: Plug the power cord back into the printer and turn it on.
Check for Paper Jams:
- Open the paper trays and check for any jammed paper inside the printer.
- Remove any stuck paper and ensure the paper path is clear.
Check Print Cartridges:
- Open the printer’s top cover and check the print cartridges. Make sure they are properly installed and secure.
- If cartridges are low or empty, replace them with new HP cartridges.
Check the Rear Access Door:
- If your printer has a rear access door, open it and check for any obstructions or paper jams.
- Ensure the door is securely closed.
Reinstall Printer Software:
- Sometimes a software issue can cause the printer to report errors. Try uninstalling and then reinstalling the printer software.
- Download the latest drivers and software from the HP website for your specific printer model.
Update Windows:
- Ensure your Windows 11 operating system is up to date with the latest updates, as these can sometimes resolve compatibility issues.
Printer Diagnostics:
- Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool to diagnose and fix common printing and scanning issues. You can download this tool from the HP support website.
