Help, printer is not printing color correctly. It prints a yellow strip down the page (or across when landscape) over top of the other colors on the page. No, I have not been drinking. 😊 The print preview window (see image below) shows the document correctly. The second image below shows what prints.

I have the Officejet Pro X576dw multifunction printer with genuine HP ink cartridges and all ink cartridges have ink in them.

The printer does not generate any error message and prints black and white just fine.

I am completely baffled. Can someone please help me with what may be causing this issue?

Thank you.

Based on your second image posting (it is blocked from public view because it contains the serial number of your unit), it appears that 2 of the magenta dies in the printhead have ceased to function. I would check closely to make sure there is not debris in the head path. Open the left door, remove the waste ink container and then press the green lever to drop the paper guide and then use a flashlight to examine the upper part of the cavity for any debris. Other than that, based on the sharp line you are likely dealing with a failed printhead and the cost of replacement parts far exceeds the cost of purchasing a new printer.

Please print the color test page or print quality page from the control panel and post that. Based on the sample you posted, you are missing color, as the purple has a cyan  tint to it and there is no grey at all. My first guess and most common issue is a problem with the black ink. The print quality page will print bars of each primary color and solid black which makes the missing color immediately obvious.

Thank you for responding so quickly. Per your suggestion, below is what the print quality report produced. I ran the clean printhead process and this was the report it produced.

Please create a new post with a complete description of your problem and what printer you have. A photo sample can also be useful.
