HP OfficeJet Pro 8030 series

Printer is only printing blank pages. It has plenty of ink, I use it all the time so it has not dried up. I have done all the suggested maintenance (prints blank pages during this process). I updated the firmware. When I print a test page is the only time it actually prints.

@Dudge

This means that the printer hardware is working fine. This seems like a software issue.

Check for updates on the iOS device

Go to Settings > General > Update the software

Update the printer firmware

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

There are 2 ways you can print from your iOS device,

Via AirPrint - click here to know how

Via HP Smart app - click here to know how

Try both the methods and check the result.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

@Dudge, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

  • Did you try printing a print quality report and check the result?
  • Are you trying to print from a Win PC or a MAC?
  • Try making a standalone copy in black and color to check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

Make sure you have tried the steps mentioned in this document - Black Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues

Check the ink levels, clean the ink cartridges and print a quality report to check the result.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Tried the above suggested solutions and it still will not print. I am printing with my iPhone. I bought this printer this year and it has worked great all year. If I download the document to my phone and print through the app then it works. If I just try to print by selecting “share to print” then it prints blank pages.

Also the stand alone copy did print just fine.

It started working again... not sure why. I updated firmware and app days ago and it still wasn’t working. Thanks for the help.
