Printer is printing the full page but only 2/3 of the image will be printed

 I picked up this printer from a goodwill and when I try to have anything printed, it comes out like it's trying to print on a much longer piece of paper.

I've messed with the settings on the HP Print app and the printer itself and everything seems fine in terms of the paper I'm using, and the previews look normal as well.

The only thing that prints normally is stuff built into the printer itself, like if it prints out a Setup Paper or instructions, those come out fine

Could be true -- could be a setting or could be something odd.

Something to check...

After you load your paper, check / adjust the Paper Size & Type - Tray and Paper management

Reminder: 

HP Smart Mobile (and likely the plugin, too) require the paper size / type to be adjusted / set before you open the content to be printed.

Load the paper according to the instructions in the User Guide

For example, Pages 11-12

If supported, and / or you dislike typing on tiny printer display panel,

Use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to adjust (edit) / check the Paper Size & Type

Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper Management

Model Dependent:  Advanced section

Click Apply to save changes
