Printer is printing without authorization. 2-25 letters or symbols on every page until all paper is gone. I googled it and it said to unplug. I turned it off. Then tried to print a new document. I plugged it back up and it continued the goobly-degoop on every page. Please advise. I'm running out of paper but still need to print.

Hi @ppprivott,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
If your HP printer is printing random letters or symbols continuously until all paper is gone, this is typically caused by a corrupted print job stuck in the queue, or a driver/software glitch. Here's how to stop it and get back to normal printing:
1. Cancel All Print Jobs
- On your PC, press Win + R, type control printers, and press Enter.
- Right-click your HP printer → Select “See what’s printing”.
- Cancel all jobs.
- If any job won’t cancel, restart your PC.
2. Restart the Print Spooler Service
- Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Scroll to Print Spooler → Right-click → Restart.
3. Power Cycle the Printer
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug it from the wall for 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn it on.
4. Reinstall the Printer Driver
- Go to Official HP® Printer Drivers and Software Download | HP® Support.
- Enter your printer model.
- Download and install the Full Feature Software and Driver.
- Restart your PC and printer.
5. Try Printing a Test Page
- Use Notepad or Word to print a simple document.
- If it prints correctly, the issue is resolved.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
