Printer was working fine until of a sudden it showed an E6 error code. Lights flashing, I have tried to remove cartridges as suggested by HP support, but the carriage will not move into position with lid up. I have unplugged power and restarted, to no avail. Please help.

Remove the cartridges, turn the printer off and on, and then reseat the cartridges.
1. Lift the ink cartridge access door until it locks into place.
The ink carriage moves to the left.

7. Wait for 12 minutes, and then press the Power button to turn the printer on.
8. Wait until the carriage is idle and silent.
The printer control panel displays an E0 error.
9. Lift the ink cartridge access door.
10. Reseat the cartridges.
