HP Envy 6100r seems like it’s going offline and printing stops then starts again but also it seems to constantly be loading the print job. Sometimes it stops completely. I just got this print 3 days ago. I’ve used up so many pages of paper with trying to print!

Hi @Momboy,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding printing speed and interruption issues with the HP ENVY 6100 series!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Network Connection:

  • Ensure that your printer is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network, as network fluctuations can lead to intermittent connectivity.
  • If possible, move the printer closer to the router to improve signal strength.

Check Printer Status:

  • Verify that the printer is not in sleep mode when the print job is being sent. You can wake it by touching the control panel or pressing the Power button.
  • Ensure that the printer is set to active or ‘Online’ status in your computer’s printer settings.

Firmware and Driver Updates:

  • Visit the HP Support website to check for any firmware updates or driver updates for your printer model, as these can resolve compatibility issues and improve performance.

Printer Settings:

  • Go into the printer preferences from your computer and ensure that the print job is set to ‘Normal’ or ‘Draft’ mode instead of ‘Best’, which may slow down printing.
  • Make sure the paper settings match the loaded paper size and type.

Clear Print Queue:

  • Sometimes, documents stuck in the print queue can cause delays. Go to the print queue and clear any pending jobs.
  • Restart the computer after clearing the queue and attempt to print again.

Check Ink Levels:

  • Low ink levels can cause delays and interruptions. Check your printer’s ink cartridge status and replace any that are low or depleted.

Restart Devices:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it for a few minutes before turning it back on again. This can reset minor errors.
  • Restart your computer to clear any temporary glitches.

I hope this helps.
