When I send a document to print, the printer starts Ok, but after a few lines of printing (like 1 inch of paper) the carriage starts to slow down and the paper just move forward and backwards  in the same spot.

When this happen, I open the front lid to see what's happening, the carriage moves all to the right and stops, then I close the lid again and sometimes starts printing normally again but then it stops again (like 1 inch of printing) and does the same again.

Seems that the problem repeats at the same spot of the mechanisms, does this make sense?

Thank you!

I found the problem. Seems like an unique situation, but might help someone in the future.

Turns out that someone in my house moved the printer without me knowing, this movement
provoked that some tint got spilled out. The tint apparently stained the mechanism that reads the position/movement of the roller that moves paper while printing, both sensor and the encoder roller. Cleaned it and is now working again.
