Hi @Brad1112233,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thanks for flagging this—when a printer gets stuck in “printing” mode but doesn’t print, it’s usually a sign of a stalled print queue or a communication glitch between your device and the printer.
Here’s how to get things moving again:
🛠️ Step-by-Step Fix
- Cancel All Print Jobs:
- On your PC, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your HP printer and select See what’s printing.
- Cancel all pending jobs.
- Restart the Print Spooler (Windows):
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
- Scroll to Print Spooler, right-click it, and choose Restart.
- Power Cycle Everything:
- Turn off your printer and unplug it.
- Restart your computer.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
- Run HP Smart’s Diagnose & Fix Tool:
- If you haven’t already, download the HP Smart app.
- Open the app, go to the wrench icon (bottom left), and run Diagnose & Fix.
- Reinstall the Printer Driver:
- Uninstall your printer from Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
- Then reinstall it using the HP Smart app or from HP’s official driver page: HP printer setup (HP Smart app) | HP® Support

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
