Hi @Brad1112233,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for flagging this—when a printer gets stuck in “printing” mode but doesn’t print, it’s usually a sign of a stalled print queue or a communication glitch between your device and the printer.

Here’s how to get things moving again:

🛠️ Step-by-Step Fix

  1. Cancel All Print Jobs:
    • On your PC, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
    • Right-click your HP printer and select See what’s printing.
    • Cancel all pending jobs.

  2. Restart the Print Spooler (Windows):
    • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
    • Scroll to Print Spooler, right-click it, and choose Restart.

  3. Power Cycle Everything:
    • Turn off your printer and unplug it.
    • Restart your computer.
    • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

  4. Run HP Smart’s Diagnose & Fix Tool:
    • If you haven’t already, download the HP Smart app.
    • Open the app, go to the wrench icon (bottom left), and run Diagnose & Fix.

  5. Reinstall the Printer Driver:

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
