Hi @Doubledosekd,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP printer’s jam light is on despite no paper jam and cleaning, here are a few additional steps you might try.
Check for Paper Fragments: Sometimes small bits of paper can cause a jam indicator. Look inside the printer for any paper fragments or debris.
Inspect the Paper Path: Carefully check all accessible areas of the paper path, including the input tray, output tray, and any internal rollers. Make sure there’s no paper or obstruction.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Check for Obstructions: Ensure there are no foreign objects or obstructions in the printer’s paper path. Sometimes small objects can trigger a jam error.
Recalibrate the Printer: Some printers have a calibration function that can help reset internal sensors. Check the printer’s menu or manual for calibration options.
Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers: Outdated or corrupted drivers can sometimes cause issues. Ensure you have the latest drivers installed, or try reinstalling them.
Check the Paper Tray: Make sure the paper tray is properly aligned and seated. Sometimes an incorrectly positioned tray can cause false jam alerts.
Inspect the Rollers: Check the rollers for any signs of wear or damage. If they’re dirty or worn, clean or replace them as needed.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
