Hi @JJ5441,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I can try to provide some general suggestions that might help with the "missing or failed printhead" issue on your HP Officejet Pro 8610.

  • Restart the Printer: Try turning off your printer, unplugging it from the power source, and waiting for a few minutes before plugging it back in and turning it on again. This simple step might resolve minor glitches.
  • Check Printhead Connections: Ensure that the printhead is properly installed. Open the printer cover and make sure the printhead is securely in place. If it's loose, reinsert it carefully.
  • Update Firmware/Drivers: Make sure your printer's firmware and drivers are up to date. Visit the HP support website for your printer model and download the latest firmware and drivers if needed.
  • Clean Printhead Contacts: Turn off the printer and disconnect the power. Remove the printhead and clean the electrical contacts on both the printhead and the printer using a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water.
  • Replace Printhead: If the issue persists after trying the above steps, it's possible that the printhead itself is faulty. Consider replacing the printhead.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
