I am using Microsoft Windows 11, and I use an HP DeskJet 2755e All-in-One Printer.

 

Usually, my printer works fine. But today, I tried to print something, but it made noise and didn't print anything. It didn't say anything about being offline. I also found that it kept what was in the queue, and the print job was still loading, but nothing was printing at all, not even while the print job was loading. So, I canceled the print job altogether.

 

How do I solve this problem? Is there anything that can be done?

When a printer makes noise but doesn't print, it usually indicates that the printer is receiving the print command but encountering an issue that prevents it from completing the job. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the problem with your HP DeskJet 2755e All-in-One Printer.

 

Check Basic Connections and Settings

  • Power and Connections: Ensure the printer is powered on and properly connected to your computer via USB or Wi-Fi.
  • Paper and Ink: Check that there is paper loaded in the tray and that the ink cartridges are not empty or improperly installed.
  • Print Queue: Make sure there are no stuck print jobs in the print queue. You can clear the print queue by going to "Settings" > "Devices" > "Printers & scanners," selecting your printer, and choosing "Open queue." Right-click any stuck jobs and cancel them.

Restart Printer and Computer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Restart your computer to reset any potential issues.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

HP provides a diagnostic tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor that can help identify and fix printing issues.

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor from the HP support website.

Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers

  • Update Driver: Go to "Settings" > "Devices" > "Printers & scanners," select your printer, and choose "Manage." Then, click "Printer properties" and go to the "Advanced" tab to check for driver updates.
  • Reinstall Driver: If updating doesn't help, uninstall the printer driver and reinstall it. You can uninstall it from "Settings" > "Devices" > "Printers & scanners," select your printer, and choose "Remove device." Then download and install the latest driver from the HP support website.

Check for Firmware Updates

  • Visit the HP support website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Updating the firmware can resolve many issues.

Perform a Printer Reset

  • Perform a full reset of the printer. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to reset your specific model.

Check for Hardware Issues

  • Paper Jam: Inspect the printer for any paper jams and clear them if found.
  • Cartridges: Ensure the ink cartridges are seated properly and are not clogged. Clean the print head if necessary.

Print a Test Page

  • Try printing a test page directly from the printer to check if the issue is with the printer or the computer. You can usually do this from the printer’s control panel.

Network Issues

  • If you are using the printer over Wi-Fi, ensure that your computer and printer are on the same network. Sometimes, network issues can cause print jobs to fail.
