Hi @Duff080170

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

That “User Intervention Required” message can be maddening—especially when everything else seems to be working fine. Since you’ve already updated drivers and verified your Wi-Fi, let’s dig into some deeper fixes that have helped other HP 3830 users:

Check Printer Status:

  • Ensure the printer is turned on and is not displaying any error lights or messages on the control panel.
  • Verify that there is paper in the tray and that the ink cartridges are properly installed.

Restart Print Spooler Service:

  • Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
  • Scroll down to find "Print Spooler", right-click on it, and select "Restart".
  • This can clear out any stuck print jobs and reset the printing service.

Check for Pending Jobs:

  • Open the Printer Queue by going to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners, selecting your printer, and clicking "Open queue".
  • If there are any paused or stuck print jobs, clear them or restart them.

Reconfigure Printer Connection:

  • Remove and re-add your printer:
    • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners, select the printer, and click "Remove device".
    • Add the printer again by clicking "Add device".

Reinstall Printer Driver:

  • Consider reinstalling the printer driver:
    • Visit the HP Support website and download the latest driver for your printer model.
    • Install it manually, ensuring it updates any existing driver software.

Check Firewall & Security Software:

  • Sometimes firewall or third-party antivirus settings can block communication. Ensure that printer communication is not blocked by your firewall or security software.

Printer's Control Panel Reset:

  • Perform a printer reset using the control panel. On certain models, you can do this by turning off the printer, disconnecting the power cable, waiting for 60 seconds, and reconnecting the cable before turning it back on.
