I have just replaced the ink cartridges in our printer with the same HP-compatible Calidad cartridges that we've always used but our printer is now showing error message "Non-HP Circuitry Detected", or otherwise it will start the alignment process but will only get half way through before stopping. I've tried every trouble-shooting option that has been provided - cleaning the cartridge tapes, switching the printer off/on, unplugging, even bought and tried new cartridges - all to no avail. The printer was working fine up until it this happened and as I said we've always used this brand/type of cartridges without and issue like this.
This is a work printer and he doesn't have Instant Ink set up so what I want to know is are there any other alternative suggestions that I can try, is it worth me trying a different brand of ink cartridges from an actual printer store or am I better off telling the boss we need a new printer? If anyone can offer assistance I'll be extremely grateful! TIA.

** I forgot to mention that it's only the Tri-colour ink light that keeps flashing, and that I've tried to just use the black ink cartridge and switch the printer to "single cartridge mode" but I can't access the printer in Settings because the printer is coming up as "Unavailable".

Hi @TSG_MB4852,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I see that you have an issue using non-HP ink cartridges on your printer now but have worked in the past.
Please follow the steps below to fix the issue.
A) Perform a power drain
1) Take out the cartridges
2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.
5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.
Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges
B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.
C) If the issue still persists, refer to this link for more information related to using non-HP ink cartridges.
If you are using generic or Non HP ink cartridges and the above steps do not help. You will have to contact the generic ink cartridge manufacturer to assist you further with it or you will have to use genuine HP ink cartridges to resume printing.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a great day ahead!
