Hi @Horsenaround,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP ENVY 4500 e-All-in-One Printer if it's not printing text despite having good ink levels and a cleaned printhead,
here are some troubleshooting steps to try:
Check the Printer for Ink Clogs: Even though you cleaned the printhead, it might still have some residual ink clogging the nozzles. Run the Printhead Cleaning option again from the printer’s control panel or through the HP Printer Assistant on your computer.
Print a Test Page: After cleaning the printhead, print a test page to check the printer's performance. If the test page shows any blank areas or faded text, this could indicate a problem with the ink nozzles.
Check for Software Issues: Ensure that your printer drivers and software are up to date. Outdated or corrupted drivers might prevent the printer from functioning properly.
- Go to HP Support and download the latest drivers for the ENVY 4500 series, and reinstall them.
Check the Print Settings: Sometimes the print settings could be set to print in grayscale or draft mode, which can result in missing text. Ensure the printer settings are set to normal or best quality.
Check for Paper or Cartridge Issues: Ensure the paper is loaded correctly and that there are no paper jams. Additionally, check the cartridges for any blockages or damage.
Reset the Printer: Try resetting the printer to its default settings:
- Turn off the printer.
- Disconnect the power cord and wait for 30 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.
Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor: You can download the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool to automatically diagnose and fix printer issues. HP Print and Scan Doctor
