Hello, My printer is on but won't print. The paper light is blinking orange, the i button is a solid orange, and numerous icons on the screen are blinking.

Hi @AONeill1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for describing the issue clearly. Based on the blinking orange paper lightsolid orange “i” (Information) button, and multiple blinking icons, your HP printer is likely in an error state related to paper feed or ink cartridge issues.

Here’s how to troubleshoot it step by step:

1. Check for Paper Jam or Empty Tray

  • Open the input tray and make sure it has paper.
  • Adjust the paper guides to fit snugly.
  • Check for any jammed paper inside the printer (input tray, output tray, and rear access if available).
  • Close all doors securely.

2. Reset the Printer

  • With the printer on, unplug the power cord from the back.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

This clears temporary errors.

3. Check Ink Cartridges

  • Open the cartridge access door.
  • Remove and reinsert both cartridges.
  • Make sure they are genuine HP cartridges and properly seated.
  • If the ink icons are blinking, one or both cartridges may be:
    • Empty
    • Incompatible
    • Not recognized

If needed, clean the cartridge contacts with a lint-free cloth and reinstall.

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
