Printer offline-cant print from phone

My husband and I used to be able to print from our Android phones. Now we see a message that says "printer isn't available now."

We have tried to go to settings to add our printer IP and host name again but it won't accept it. On my phone I get a message that says Print Spooler error. If I turn my phone off then restart I can quickly hit print and I can get one item printed but thats it.

Suggestions?

My android phone is so old it rides around in a cart that has square wheels.  So, no help there.

That said, if this all worked (say, last week) and just suddenly up and stopped cooperating, consider:

Restart Everything, including the phones, printer, and your network router.  Restart any computers, too.

Why?

Might just be a tangle.

What else?

If the android phones are using an HP app for submitting print jobs, consider uninstalling / reloading the app.
