Hi @vanessa12,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP ENVY 5055 All-in-One Printer is showing as "offline" on your PC and you cannot print from your phone despite being connected to Wi-Fi, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Restart Your Devices

  • Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Restart Your Router: Power cycle your Wi-Fi router by unplugging it for 30 seconds and plugging it back in.
  • Restart Your PC and Phone: Reboot the devices you're trying to print from.

Check Printer Connectivity

  • Printer Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network. Print a Network Configuration Report from the printer's control panel to verify connectivity.
    • On the printer's control panel, touch the Wireless icon, then navigate to Print Reports and select Network Configuration Report.

Update Printer Status on PC

  • Windows:
    1. Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
    2. Right-click your printer and select See what’s printing.
    3. In the new window, click Printer in the top-left menu, and ensure Use Printer Offline is unchecked.
  • Mac:
    1. Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
    2. Select your printer and click the minus (–) button to remove it.
    3. Click the plus (+) button, add the printer again, and select it from the list.

Update Printer Drivers

  • Download and install the latest drivers from the HP Support website for the ENVY 5055.
    • Windows: Download the HP Smart App or full driver package.
    • Mac: Ensure your macOS is updated and install the latest HP drivers.

Reinstall the Printer on Your Phone

  • Ensure the HP Smart App is installed on your phone.
  • Open the app, and tap Add Printer to connect the printer again.
  • Ensure your phone is on the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.

Set the Printer as Default (PC)

  • Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click your HP ENVY 5055 and select Set as Default Printer.

Test Printing

  • Print a test page from both your PC and phone:
    • From PC: Right-click the printer in Devices and Printers, select Printer Properties, and click Print Test Page.
    • From Phone: Use the HP Smart App or Print option from an app like Chrome or Notes.

Advanced Troubleshooting

  • Firewall/Antivirus: Ensure your firewall or antivirus is not blocking printer communication.
  • Reset Network Settings on Printer:
    1. Access the printer's settings menu.
    2. Select Network Settings > Restore Network Defaults.
    3. Reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
