Have had this printer for about a week now and it was printing fine.  But today when trying to print it will only print pink and yellow--no other colors.  I used HP print doctor and they found no problems--ink levels are fine and also tried cleaning the print head.   I'm thinking it's the cartridge??

@tandkcrissinger,

Thank you for stopping by the HP community. A good day to you. I have reviewed the case. It will be a delight to assist you here. I see that it is your first visit here and I want to make it a memorable one. You area valued Hp customer. Terrific troubleshooting and great observations made. Kudos to you for that.

  • Did this happen after a recent power outage or surge?
  • Did you try making photocopies in color directly from the printer?

For now, try these steps:

Then make 2 photocopies in color directly from the printer without any communication from the computer.

If it has some missing colors perform all the relevant steps from this link: https://support.hp.com/ie-en/product/hp-envy-5540-all-in-one-printer-series/5447939/document/c047271... (HP ENVY 5540, DeskJet 5570 Printers - Fixing Poor Print Quality)

Perform all relevant steps from step1 to step 14. Evaluate and diagnose the print quality report.

Identifying and replacing the faulty ink cartridge should fix the issue as long as the printer's hardware is not faulty.

I will send you a private message to assist you with the next course of action. Check your forum private message box in the upper right corner next to the bell icon.

Good luck and keep me posted about the developments. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution as it will help several others with the same issue and give the post a Kudos for my efforts to help. Thank you and have a great week ahead. 🙂
