I have owned my printer for a few years now.  As of recently it has started having 2 separate issues.

1st) It will not scan documents.

2nd) *the biggest problem*  It will print some documents in full and other documents it will only print the last page.

I have had my IT guy from work look at it and nothing has worked so far.  Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.  Thank you!

Hi @lparks,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

It is a great way to engage, post questions and find resolutions by working with specialists in the HP community.

I reviewed your post and I understand that the printer is printing only the last page and you are also having trouble scanning.

I’d love to help!

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.) Restart the PC

14.) Download and install the printer software from the below link.

I began going through the steps and my printer is not listed under the programs and features.  Any ideas?  I can find the printer under printers and devices so I know it is there.

My work laptop was reimaged over the summer break.  Could it be that the program and software was uninstalled and not reinstalled properly or at all?  When I use it, I always use the USB connection.  I never connected it wirelessly.

I do appreciate the help!

Hi @lparks,

Possible, please reinstall the software and check.

Please post your results, as I will be looking forward to hearing from you.

OK.  I had our IT guy remotely access my comp and he uninstalled and reinstalled according to the directions you left me in the post above.

It did not work.  Printer is still printing only the last page of the documents, and will not print page by page.

Could it not be compatible with the new Windows operating system?  I still have the original siftware CD and it says Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7.

?

2 of our IT guys are now stumped 🙂

They also tried exporting the document to a PDF becuase they had luck doing that in the past with a differnet computer, and that did not work either.

Hi @lparks,

I would like to know from which application you are printing?  Try printing from a different application and check what happens.

Meanwhile, follow the steps in the below article and check if it helps.

I am trying to print a document from word.  It's a 6-page lesson plan.  The IT guy exported the document from word to a PDF and then tried to print, but it still printed only the last page.

Even if I go into the print settings and print 1 page at a time.  For example, from the word app, I select the option to print page 1 only.  The task bar at the bottom of the screen tells me that the job is being sent to the print, but nothing ever happens and when you click on the printer to see pending jobs, it says there are no pending jobs.  Even if you go to the printer immediately after selecting "print."

Our IT guys have already left for the day. I can call them again tomorrow and see if they can follow that link you gave me in the previous post.  I do not have "admin access" to install or uninstall any programs.  It has to be done via remote access.  I will try tomorrow and let ya know what happens!

Thanks again for the help and prompt feedback.

The remote accessing did not work.  Something in the process went wrong.  This past Monday, our IT guy came back to my office in person.  He deleted any and all HP software from my laptop and reinstalled it "using a different driver."  That seemed to work!

My printer and scanner are back up and running!
