A warm welcome to HP Forums! This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

I understand you need support and I'll be glad to help you out. However, for an accurate solution, I would need more details:

What's the printer model?

Are you printing using HP Smart App or AirPrint to print photos?

Let me know!

If you are using AirPrint to print documents, then AirPrint will automatically adjusts the print size to the detected paper. If your printer has a control panel with the option to change paper sizes, you can change the paper size and the iOS device detects the new size. The printout is then scaled accordingly.

If you are using HP Smart App to print documents, then you may use the steps available below to adjust print settings to print on a normal paper:

1.) Open HP Smart App

2.) Touch Print Document.
3.) Select the document that you want to print.
4.) Touch the Settings icon located on top right.

5.) Touch Size and select the desired paper size.

6.) Touch Done on top right.

7.) Touch Print.

Let me know how it goes!

Could you remove all the photo paper from the photo tray and load only regular paper into the main tray and then try to print.

I’ve tried that. I get a message to add photo paper to photo tray.  I have also removed photo tray all together.

That's unfortunate 😞

Are you trying to print a picture or a document?

What file format is the document that you are trying to print. Eg: PDF, JPEG?

Not a document or photo just anything I try to print from my iPad. Ex: an email or a recipe.

Thanks! Let's try updating the printer firmware and iOS, you may use the links below to update the printer firmware and iOS:

Update printer firmware

Update iOS

Once you update printer firmware and iOS, restart printer and iPad then try to print.

Also use the steps available here to adjust the paper tray and paper size settings using the printer control panel display.
