When printing pictures, my 8100 Pro pauses during the print and there are lines in the picture. It acts like it is pausing to reload data to continue printing. Memory, spool...HELP

Hello, @jjaklinski
It looks like an issue with the drivers for your printer as the test page is printing well. Try a clean install and then try the steps I listed above:
- First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.
- Go to Control Panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Officejet printer entries and uninstall them.
- Now go to Control Panel – Devices and Printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
- Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
- Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
- Again, go to the Run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
- Restart your computer.
- Now, click HP Officejet Pro 8100 ePrinter - N811a/N811d to download and install the software.
- Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.
Now, try printing. If the issue persists, try using a different app to print the picture and check. Also, make sure you are selecting the correct paper settings on the PC. Select the correct paper type and the paper type before giving the print command.
Let me know how that goes!

Hello, @jjaklinski – Hope you are well 🙂
Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support Forums! I’d like to be of your assistance!
Going through your post, I see that you are having print quality issues with the Officejet 8100 printer. Let’s start by printing a print quality page on the printer. Here are the steps:
-
Load plain white paper into the paper tray.
-
Press the Power button (
) to turn on the product, if it is not already on.
- Press and hold the Power button (
) while you perform the following button presses:
-
Press the Cancel button (
) seven times.
-
Press the Resume button (
) two times.
-
-
Release the Power button (
). The Print Quality Diagnostic Page prints. Let me know the result.
If the print quality page also comes with the lines, then try the steps listed here: HP Officejet Pro 8100 ePrinter - Troubleshooting Print Quality Issues
Make sure to clean & align the print head as suggested in the document.
Let me know how that goes!
Cheers 🙂

Hello, @jjaklinski
It could be an issue with the app as the images are printing fine from some apps.
Try to uninstall and reinstall the Picassa and check.
Hope that helps!
