Sorry if this is not the correct board. There didn't seem to be one that fit my problem.
My Inkjet printer (OfficeJet 5258) seems to have two weird problems. One, the power button will no longer shutdown the printer. The power button also no longer starts the printer. The printer simply starts up as soon as I plug in the power cord.
In addition to all this, the printer will no longer complete its boot up process. The LCD screen shows the boot up progress line advancing to the very end, then it just stays there indefinitely with the HP logo. The printer is completely useless and no longer functions beyond this point. I've tried to unplug and replug the power cord a number of times. And yes, I've let it sit for a very long time before plugging it back in. I simply would like to know if there is something else I can try before concluding the printer is shot and I need to purchase a new one.
Thank you for any help that anyone can provide.
