HP OfficeJet Pro 9018
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The Printer PRINTS by itself - I have seen this asked before with a Solution that didn't tell how to fix it?

The solution said "Problem solved, there was an open port" but nowhere does it say how to fix or what port.  From the printed pages I'm guessing the port is 9100, but this has not been a problem with either of my old HP printers that I just replaced the past few months

I have two HP Officejet 9018 printers.  Both print out 3 pages when no computer is on.

1) HEAD / HTTP/1.1

Host: 10.0.0.245:9100  (the IP of the Printer)

User-Agent: curl/7.59.0

Accept:  */*

2) OPTIONS * RSTP/1.0

CSeq: 1

User-Agent: curl/7.59.0

3) GET ? HTTP/1.1

Host: 10.0.0.245:9100

User-Agent: curl/7.59.0

Accept:  */*

I have removed and changed the drivers on both computers (win 10 32bit & 64bit)

Turned off Web services and stopped for a couple of days, now back

Hi @Dave_Maurice

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the  "Printer prints pages when the computer is not ON" issue.

Let's try a power reset on the printer

Reset the product

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  1. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  4. Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  5. Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
