HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer
The printer will print reports generally with no issue, but when we send something to be printed (like you would usually), it acts like it's going to print, but when it is finished, it is blank paper. how can we fix this? I have tried using Wi-Fi and USB ( both times uninstalling and reinstalling the driver). I've tried using the HP smart app on multiple devices, using the HP smart app and not using it; on iPhones, using the Smart App, and on my Windows computers, I tried both options, including using USB. The Printer is online, and I can access it online; the USB is working only for reports. Now it does "print" when we ask it to, but it prints a blank page, and it's not like it just prints a blank page immediately. It acts like it's going to print, and you can hear the printing mechanism moving back and forth like it usually would. This has been happening for a while since the beginning of the year or longer. (I got fed up, so I am figuring this out now.)

Hi @HoneyBadger2,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you've already tried several troubleshooting steps, but let's go through a few more to see if we can resolve the issue with your HP ENVY Photo 7855 printer.

Check Ink Levels: Ensure that your ink cartridges have sufficient ink. Sometimes low ink levels can cause printing issues, including blank pages.

Print Quality Diagnostic Report: Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Report from the printer's control panel. This can often identify issues with printheads or ink delivery systems.

  • From the printer's control panel, navigate to Settings > Tools > Print Quality Report or Diagnostic Tools.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to print the report.
  • Check if the report prints correctly or if it shows any issues (such as missing colors or streaks).

Clean Printheads: If the Print Quality Diagnostic Report shows issues, you may need to clean the printheads.

  • From the printer's control panel, navigate to Settings > Tools > Clean Printhead.
  • Follow the instructions on the screen to initiate the printhead cleaning process.

Align Printheads (if applicable): Sometimes, aligning the printheads can resolve printing issues.

  • From the printer's control panel, navigate to Settings > Tools > Align Printhead.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to align the printheads.

Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Firmware updates can sometimes fix bugs and improve printer performance.

  • You can check for firmware updates using the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP Support website and searching for your printer model.

Reset the Printer: Performing a reset on the printer can sometimes resolve persistent issues.

  • Reset options vary by printer model. Typically, you can find reset options under the Settings or Tools menu on the printer's control panel.

Check Paper and Print Settings: Ensure that you're using the correct paper type and size settings in both your document and the printer.

Test with Different Documents: Try printing different types of documents (text, images, etc.) to see if the issue persists across different content types.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, it might indicate a more complex hardware problem with the printer itself.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
