Hello all,
This is my first post here on the forums and its a doozy.
I updated my laptop last night from Win 8.1 to Win 10. Everythig seems to work well except my Deskjet F4140 printer. It prints but the colors are wrong. blues are red, reds are green, greens are purple, made for a very interestng first print. I've done all the usual stuff, trouble shooter, test page clean and align heads. uninstall and reinstall to make sure it was getting the windows 10 driver, but alas my problem remains. I've tried to find a way to change compataibility mode and cant find my .exe file for the printer. I know this is and older printer but it works like a top and I'd hate to have to replace it due to this issue.
TL:DR
updated to win 10 and colors are off as hell.
Thanks,
Robbie

I have similar problem with my m475dn. Since the update to windows 10, colors are quite off. It even prints some .png files, which have transparent background with yellowish background. Tried printing with 4 different win10 computers, always the same problem, but with 8.1 it prints ok.
I already tried reinstalling everything, but it's the same.

Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that the colors are wrong after upgrading to Windows 10. And, I am happy to help!
Robbie81: Are you using Genuine HP ink cartridges, or refills? In the meantime, you can download the Windows 10 software using this direct link, HP Deskjet F2100/F4100 All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Driver. I would also recommend to go through this guide, Wrong Colors.
ikeban: I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it, in the commercial forums since this is a commercial product. You can do this at the HP Enterprise Business Community website.
Hope this helps, and have a nice day!

Hi robbie81,
Thank you for your reply!
I would suggest to try the steps within this guide, Ink Smears or Streaks, and if that does not resolve your issue. The printer will need to be serviced/or replaced. Please contact HP, phone support for further assistance. (After you fill out the information, you will be given a phone number.) If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region. Country-language selector.
Best regards!

Hi, I have the exact same problema as Robbie81, with a F4100. Exact same issue, after upgrade to Windows 10, all the printed colors are mess up. And I have 3 computer at home, 2 with Windows 10 and 2 still in Windows 8.1. Both Windows 10 machines have the same problema, and the remain Windows 8.1 machines works with no problem. I test it connect it directly the printer into each machine. I'm also attaching a colorcard.pdf page I found to do the print test, and I'm attaching the real printed page I scanned again with the resulting printed colors, so you can compare.... please contact me if you need more info.
regards.

Hi bcorralesa,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
Please try the following steps in this order:
- Uninstall the software. Uninstalling the Printer Software.
- Clean boot the computer. How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
- Disable any Antivirus programs. Disable Antivirus software.
- Disable any firewall programs. Windows Firewall from start to finish.
- Create a new user account. Managing User Accounts and Logins (Windows 10).
- Reinstall using the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.
