HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M477fdw

This happens whether I reset to factory defaults or not.

Firmware datecode: 20220414 (and occurs on previous two firmwares).

If I upload a certificate including private key (in PKCS#12 format) the printer reboots as soon as I click "Finish".

Any tips to solve this?

I had this with my HP Color LaserJet MFP M277dw, device firmware datecode 20201119, and managed to solve it. It turned out that the certificate that triggered the reboot had an ECDSA key. I then generated an RSA 2048 key instead, and that was accepted. My hypothesis is that my printer doesn't support ECDSA keys.

That was indeed the problem.

I renewed my LetsEncrypt certificate with RSA key and the printer now accepts the certificate without rebooting.

Thanks a lot for your post!

@HP, would be good to either add ECDSA key support or at the very least notify the user instead of crashing/rebooting the printer.
