HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277dw

Hello,

I have an HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277 printer.

It prints with no problems at all. However, after I printed my jobs, the jobs are still in the queue and the prompt states that the jobs are still printing. I've stopped the printer spool in Services, restarted the spool, and that cleared the jobs. However, I have to do this every time. I know that having to stop and restart the printer spool isn't arduous, but it is annoying.

Amy suggestions would be appreciated.

I have laptop, with Windows 11 OS.

Thanks much,

Padrepat

The computer will not delete a job until it gets confirmation that the job has completed from the printer. It sounds like there are problems with your bi-directional communications. A way to test this is to disable this function in the driver of the printer which should cause windows to simply delete the job after sending it. If it does, your option is to troubleshoot the communication issue or simply leave bi-directional communication disabled.

On windows 11, go to control panel, right click on devices and printers and select open from the drop down menu. Then right click on the icon for your printer and select printer properties from the drop down menu. Go to the ports tab and disable bi-directional communication.

Hi Repairatrooper,

Thanks for replying.

Unfortunately, I couldn't do anything.

Under the Port tab, both "Enable bidirectional support" and "Enable printer spooling" were already disabled; that is, both of their boxes were unticked. In fact, the "Enable bidirectional support" option was greyed out. So, I couldn't tick or untick the box even if I wanted to.

I even tried to click on the "Configure Port" tab--just to see if I could do something there--but, when I did, I received an error message: "This operation is not supported."

I'm wondering if my next step is to uninstall the printer completely, and then reinstall it.

Thanks again for replying,
