Hi @Gj331,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To assist you with your printer issue, here’s a step-by-step guide.
Verify Ink Installation
- Ensure the ink cartridges are properly installed and securely clicked into place.
- Confirm you are using the correct cartridges compatible with your printer model.
- Remove and reinstall the cartridges to check for proper seating.
Check for Ink Subscription
- If you were previously enrolled in HP’s Instant Ink program, verify if your account is still active:
- Log in to the HP Instant Ink website with your account credentials.
- Check your subscription status.
- If the subscription is canceled or expired, Instant Ink cartridges may no longer work. You would need to use store-purchased, non-Instant Ink cartridges.
Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait 2-3 minutes.
- Plug it back in and power it on. Check if the message persists.
Run a Cartridge Alignment
- If the printer prompts for alignment after cartridge installation, ensure you complete the process.
- You can also manually align the printer from the control panel or HP Smart app.
Update Firmware
- Update your printer's firmware to the latest version using the HP Smart app.
Clean the Cartridge Contacts
- Gently clean the electrical contacts on the cartridge and inside the printer using a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
Check Printer Status
- Ensure your printer is not in an error state:
- Restart the printer.
- Check the printer display or the HP Smart app for detailed error messages.
Test with a Different Cartridge
- If possible, try using another cartridge to rule out a defective one.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
