Hi @Cwprint,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I understand how frustrating it can be when your printer falsely indicates that it’s out of ink, especially when you need to print.
Perform the steps below and see how it pans out.
Check Cartridge Installation (Ensure Proper Placement)
- Open the printer's access door and carefully remove the ink cartridges. Inspect them for any protective tape or packaging that might still be on. Reinsert the cartridges securely, ensuring they click into place.
Clean Ink Cartridge Contacts (Improve Connectivity)
- Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water to gently clean the metal contacts on the ink cartridges and inside the printer. This can help ensure good communication between the cartridges and the printer.
Perform a Printer Reset (Clear Errors)
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and power it on. This can help reset the printer’s internal system.
Check for Firmware Updates (Ensure Compatibility)
- Visit the HP Support website and check for any firmware updates for your printer model. Download and install any updates to ensure the printer operates correctly.
Run the Printer's Maintenance Utility (Diagnose Issues)
- Access the HP Smart app or your printer’s control panel and run any available maintenance tasks, such as Print Quality Diagnostic or Align Ink Cartridges. This can help troubleshoot and correct any printing issues.
