HP ENVY 4512 All-in-One Printer

Have HP 4512 Envy.  Got a paper jam message.  Did all recommended diagnostics and still says paper jam but will print a copy and eject the paper it tries to load for printing with no issues.  I am connected wirelessly and don't have a cable for direct connect.

Hi @sdmckeever,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you've done quite a bit of troubleshooting already. Here are a few additional steps to try.

  • Check the Paper Path: Double-check the entire paper path for any small pieces of paper or debris that might be causing the printer to think there's a jam. Even a small scrap of paper can trigger the jam sensor.
  • Inspect the Rollers: Make sure the rollers are clean and free from paper dust or residue. Use a lint-free cloth to wipe them gently if needed.
  • Reset the Printer: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on. Sometimes, a reset can clear any internal errors.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP Envy 4512. Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve bugs or issues.
  • Check for Errors in Printer Software: Open the HP Smart app or the printer’s software on your computer and see if there are any additional diagnostics or settings that might help.
  • Reinstall Printer Software: Uninstall and reinstall the printer software on your computer to ensure that it’s not a software issue.
  • Try a Test Print: After completing the above steps, try printing a test page to see if the issue is resolved.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
