Windows 10 but not sure of the number.
Printer had worked well until 2 weeks ago, then stopped and said that it could not detect the Driver.
I downloaded the driver - the one that was specific for LaserJet Pro M131nw first,
and then the one that covered more printers: (M129-M134 PCLm-S).
When I tried to print the test Page it said "Error - Printer".

Hi @DavidT_M131nw,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M130nw is having trouble with its driver and printing setup.
Here are some steps to troubleshoot the issue:
Check Printer Status:
- Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to your computer. Check the display panel on the printer for any error messages.
Remove and Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- Uninstall the current drivers from your computer:
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your printer and select Remove device.
- Go to the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for the LaserJet Pro MFP M130nw.
- Install the drivers by following the on-screen instructions.
Update Windows:
- Ensure your Windows 10 is up-to-date as outdated system files can sometimes cause issues with printer drivers.
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.
Check Printer Settings:
- Verify that the printer is set as the default printer:
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your printer and select Set as default printer.
- Check the printer's properties:
- Right-click on your printer, select Printer properties, and ensure that the correct port is selected.
Run the Printer Troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
- Click on Printer and then Run the troubleshooter. Follow the on-screen instructions to diagnose and fix issues.
Check Printer Queue:
- Sometimes jobs stuck in the print queue can cause issues:
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your printer and select See what's printing.
- Cancel all documents and try printing again.
Check for Firmware Updates: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Occasionally, updating the printer's firmware can resolve printing issues. Check the HP Support website for any firmware updates available for your model.
Reset Printer:
- If none of the above steps work, you may need to reset the printer to its factory settings. Refer to the printer’s manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
