HP OfficeJet 3830 printer has a glitchy screen, happened randomly. No events can be tied to the glitch. The screen is purple/blue and I can’t see anything on it. Sometimes navigating through the menu I can see what’s on the screen for a split second, then it gets covered by a purple overlay. I saw one other community post with the same problem from 2020 but no solutions for it. I have checked the drivers and hardware, everything is up to date. I can print, scan, etc using the hp smart app but it’s inconvenient for the screen not to work sometimes when you need to navigate through the menu or install new cartridges. Please help!

Hi @badprinter4000,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd like to help!
Let's try to reset the Printer here:
Reset the product
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
Also, try connecting the Printer to a different wall outlet directly.
Also, try a firmware update: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168
Let me know if this helps.
