I have an HP ENvy 5055. At the start of each print job, there is a loud,dry, squealing noise, but the printing gets done.

 

I also get frequent messages that my printer 'needs attention', which is NOT helpful since I'm not told why.

I see that the printer makes noise while printing, to be able to assist you better, I'd like to know the following-

  • What happens when you make photocopies on the printer?
  • Was there any instance of paper jams on the printer?
  • Have you tried reseating the ink cartridges?

Meanwhile, try the steps from the document Paper Jam Error which will help us isolate the issue further and also checks on the rollers and paper path.

 

Keep me posted for further assistance.
