Hi, it appears as though I can’t set up this printer on a 5GHz network... is this really the case? Seems annoying. I’m very non technical so anyone who can speak to me like an idiot would be much appreciated!!

Hi,
The printer supports 2.4GHz wireless frequency only, not 5GHz.
You would need to enable the 2.4GHz wireless band for your router, also make sure it has a unique SSID and not an identical to the 5GHz wireless SSID, then you should be able to connect the printer to the 2.4GHz wireless.
If your router is set to allow 5GHz wireless connectivity only, please consult your router service provider for any help changing its configuration.
Once 2.4GHz is enabled, follow 'Connect a printer that does not have a touchscreen control panel > Step 2: Connect the printer with the HP Smart app' below to connect the printer to your wireless network:
