My hp3830 printer (series d8789a) is saying “the printer is busy” when I try to print something but it is not printing or showing “busy” on display. How can I clear that?

Hi @Sarawrap,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP DeskJet 3830 printer is showing a "Printer is busy" message but doesn't seem to be printing or displaying any indication of being busy, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue.
- Restart the printer: Turn off your printer, wait for about 30 seconds, and then turn it back on. Sometimes, a simple restart can clear up any temporary glitches.
- Check for paper jams: Open the printer's access door and check for any paper jams or obstructions in the paper path. Clearing any jams can resolve printing issues.
- Check ink/toner levels: Ensure that your printer has enough ink or toner to complete the print job. Low ink levels can sometimes cause printing problems.
- Restart your computer or device: Sometimes, the issue may be with the device you're printing from. Try restarting your computer or the device you're printing from, and then attempt to print again.
- Update printer drivers: Make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause printing issues. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website.
- Reset the printer: If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting your printer to its factory defaults. Consult your printer's manual or the HP website for instructions on how to perform a reset.
- Check for firmware updates: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Firmware updates can sometimes fix bugs or issues that may be causing printing problems.
By following these steps, you should be able to clear the "Printer is busy" message and get your HP DeskJet 3830 printer working again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
